FOMC's Annual Fundraising Event
A Celebration for the Arts:
Bring on the Blues!
March 11, 2011, Redwood Foyer, Marin Veterans' Auditorium -- San Rafael, CA
Following the Hot Tuna Blues performance, Celebration for the Arts ticketholders enjoyed a fabulous buffet by An Affair to Remember Catering, The Melting Pot and Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream; as well as beer and wine from Moylan's Brewery and Roche Winery, while listening and dancing to the joyful singing and strumming of Shana Morrison and Volker Strifler. Didn't we say there'd be magic?
Guests met and mingled with the performers: Rock 'n Roll Hall of Famers Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady; Charlie Musslewhite, and Jim Lauderdale. And the evening ended with a great raffle of prizes donated by generous sponsors.
The Redwood Foyer walls are filled with a retrospective of photographs by legendary rock ‘n’ roll historian Don Aters who was in attendance, taking more history-making shots! He donated signed photographs to help raise funds for FOMC's Outreach Program. Anyone interested in purchasing his photos should contact the FOMC office. Adding to the fun was the sculpture of a VW bus made out of soda cans that 'burst' through the Foyer wall, created by Enrique Goldenberg.
The iconic rock posters of Stanley Mouse Miller are on view as well from the private collection of Michael Schmale of Farmers Insurance. Anyone interested in purchasing a poster, please contact the FOMC office. Portions of the proceeds benefit FOMC! Contact to view all.
It was a real sound, sight and taste senso-rama! Over 250 attendees enjoyed a great feast, dancing, laughter and conversation. |
