Nurturing the Creative Spark
Exhibition runs from September 2010 to January 23, 2011
The exhibit features art works by 20 artists, all members of the Marin/Golden Gate Chapter of the National League of American Pen Women and past student scholarship award winners. Read more about the organization below.
National League of American Pen Women is a professional group of women writers, artists, and composers organized in 1897 when women were refused admission into the (then) all-male National Press Club in Washington DC. The League has since grown to over 5000 members .
The Golden Gate/Marin branch consists of artist members who exhibit locally, some winning national awards. Monthly meetings include art workshops, critiques of members’ artwork, networking about exhibit opportunities and ongoing art shows, and visits to Bay Area museums and other places of artistic interest. We award an annual scholarship to a female high school student who intends to continue her art studies in college.
